VICIF 2024 was a success!

The 8^th annual Vietnam International Conference in Finance (VICIF 2024) was successfully held on July 1-2, 2024, at the Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The conference was selective, featuring 41 research papers (from approximately 100 papers submitted) in 14 parallel sessions. There was a special session on deposit insurance hosted by the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam that featured a presentation by Dr. JaeHoon Yoo, Chairman and President of the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC). It was a great honor to have Professor Kai Li, Managing Editor of the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (JFQA), as the keynote speaker.

We were pleased to present three paper awards, including:
·      Best Paper Award in Asset Pricing, Investment, and Financial Technology: “Consumer Sentiment Inequality and the Relative Performance of Firms” by Husna Memon (Simon Fraser University) and Amir Rubin (Simon Fraser University).
·      Best Paper Award in Corporate Finance, Financial Intermediation, and Sustainable Finance: “The Value of Openness” by Joshua Della Vedova (University of San Diego), Stephan Siegel (University of Washington), and Mitchell Warachka (Chapman University).
·      Best PhD Paper Award: “Production Technology, Information Acquisition and Disclosure, and Asset Prices” by Minxing Zhu (University of Macau).
